NEK (Northeast Kingdom) Catholic
The website for NEKCatholic.com is a custom made website for the combined parishes of St. John the Evangelist, St. Elizabeth, and Queen of Peace Catholic churches.
This website is built upon the Pulse CMS Pro content management system. It is very light weight, easy to use and comes with a number of features, not all of which were used for this website.
Along with the various capabilities, Pulse CMS Pro includes a simple starter template, the underlying structure of which was perfect for this site, though I heavily modified the appearance. The design also features the newest trend in websites; responsive design. Responsive design enables the website to automatically reformat to fit various screen sizes, all the way down to smartphone screens. See for yourself by visiting the site on your iPhone or Android device, or you can simulate it, if you are using the Firefox or Chrome web browsers by narrowing down the browser window.
The animated graphic on the home page incorporates the newest HTML5 and CSS3 coding techniques
On this website I'm using the font Cronos Pro from my Typekit account for the headlines, and also the body font.
In the sidebar of the Home page the rotating text message that smoothly fades in and out is made possible by the QuoVolver jQuery plugin.
The map on the Location page is simply using code that is freely provided by Google Maps.
